Today's MEF Dispatch features recent articles on Islamism in the West. Sam Westrop has written a major new report on the Brighter Horizons Academy of Garland, Texas, established and staffed by persons and groups with direct ties to designated terrorist organizations. The school is a subsidiary of the Islamic Services Foundation, a leading Islamist curricula publisher that produces and disseminates textbooks to private Islamist-run schools across the country.

Noah Sandler reports on the lawsuit filed by the Texas Attorney General against the Texas chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR). Dexter Van Zile argues the best way of understanding the horrific U.K. rape gangs that were ignored for years by British authorities is by applying sociologist Orlando Patterson's framework from his seminal 1982 book Slavery and Social Death: A Comparative Study.

We also include four articles by Jules Gomes and one by Ali Almraytee.

Hamas Officials' Family and Affiliates Established and Staffed Top Dallas Private School

By: Sam Westrop

Government bodies must investigate Texas K-12 schools established and run by persons and organizations with direct ties to designated terrorist organizations, urge leading reformist Muslim voices.

Radical Curricula: Brighter Horizons Academy, a private school based in Garland, Texas, is a subsidiary of the Islamic Services Foundation (ISF), which is a leading Islamist curricula publisher. This connection raises significant concerns due to the content that promotes hatred towards non-Muslims.

  • ISF's textbooks, such as I Love Islam, describe non-believers as "the worst of creatures," fostering a hostile environment.

Terror Operatives: Staff at Brighter Horizons have included individuals with ties to terrorist organizations like Hamas, raising significant concerns.

  • The involvement of relatives of Hamas leaders and those convicted of terrorism reflects a troubling connection to extremist networks.

A Broader Network: The Islamic Services Foundation and Brighter Horizons are linked to a network of schools influenced by the Muslim Brotherhood.

  • The Houston Quran Academy, part of this network, has been involved in controversies over Islamist teachings and funding.

What's next: State agencies in Texas, armed with designation of the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization, are beginning to probe these institutions.

  • Efforts to expose and defund such organizations aim to mitigate the threat of Islamist radicalization in the education system.

Texas Attorney General Sues to Ban Council on American-Islamic Relations

Officials in the Lone Star state have taken a stand against the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) by highlighting its connections to the Muslim Brotherhood and a meeting its founders held w...
By: Noah Sandler

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has filed a lawsuit to ban the activities of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) in Texas, accusing it of being the "American face of the Muslim Brotherhood."

What Paxton Seeks: Paxton's suit requests the court to classify the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR as terrorist organizations and seeks injunctions to halt CAIR's activities in Texas.

  • If granted, these measures could eliminate CAIR's operational presence in the state entirely.

The Evidence: The lawsuit cites historical ties between CAIR and the Muslim Brotherhood, including connections to Hamas.

  • Evidence from the Holy Land Foundation case and FBI testimonies are used to underline these links.

Will Suit Prevail?: The case may become a constitutional test on state versus federal authority in counterterrorism matters.

  • Experts suggest the First Amendment might protect CAIR, but one scholar says Congress should "establish a process for stripping the nonprofit status of any organization founded by, or with a documented pattern of employing, convicted terrorism supporters."

The Rape Gang Crisis: Modern-Day Slavery on British Soil

In the grooming gangs cases (such as those in Rotherham, Rochdale, Telford, and others), thousands of vulnerable young girls-predominantly white and British-were systematically raped, trafficked, and ...
By: Dexter Van Zile

It's time to address the U.K. rape gangs scandal as an institutionalized form of modern slavery within a Western democracy, using Orlando Patterson's framework from Slavery and Social Death: A Comparative Study.

Social Death: Patterson describes slavery as "the permanent, violent domination of natally alienated and generally dishonored persons."

  • Victims of the grooming gangs endured violent domination, natal alienation, and general dishonor, echoing the conditions of social death.

Social Motives Denied: Susan T. Fiske's BUC(k)ET model highlights the denial of core social motives—Belonging, Understanding, Controlling, Enhancing self, and Trusting.

  • Victims were isolated, unable to belong or trust, with shattered lives and identities.

Cultural Consequences: Authorities' failures signify a tacit coalition with perpetrators to maintain social order, sacrificing victims' welfare.

  • The resulting social death mirrors modern slavery, with victims reduced to non-persons in their own country.

  • Authorities' inaction reflects a perverse exchange prioritizing superficial peace over justice for victims.

U.K. High Court Denies Prosecutor's Appeal Targeting Free Speech Activist

The Crown Prosecution Service's ongoing war against Hamit Coskun has ended. In a victory for free speech in the U.K., the High Court has dismissed an appeal by the Director of Public Prosecutions seek...
By: Jules Gomes

In a humiliating defeat for the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), the High Court upheld Hamit Coskun's acquittal for burning a Qur'an, exposing CPS's thinly veiled attempt to criminalize blasphemy.

High Court Slams CPS: Justices Warby and Obi ruled that freedom of expression protects even offensive acts like burning a Qur'an, shattering CPS's argument for disorderly behavior charges.

  • The ruling condemned CPS's appeal as "essentially counter-arguments," highlighting the failure to grasp the essence of free speech.

CPS's Blasphemy Agenda: Free speech advocates lambasted CPS for pursuing what they see as a backdoor blasphemy law, despite its legal abolition in 2008.

  • Critics demand accountability for CPS's waste of taxpayer money on this failed prosecution, questioning its relentless pursuit of a defunct legal stance.

By: Jules Gomes

A shocking report by the Free Speech Union (FSU) unveiled extremist ties among members of the U.K. government's Working Group defining "Islamophobia."

Islamist Links Unveiled: The FSU report reveals connections between working group members and Islamist ideologies, questioning their objectivity.

  • Members have expressed support for a controversial definition of Islamophobia that could act as a de facto blasphemy law.

Grieve's Shift: Dominic Grieve, chair of the group, has reversed his views, now supporting a restrictive definition of Islamophobia.

  • This shift follows influence from organizations with known Islamist connections, raising concerns about the panel's impartiality.

By: Jules Gomes

An undercover report has sparked backlash in Italy, revealing an imam citing the Qur'an to justify marrying girls as young as nine, fueling support for anti-separatism legislation.

Channel4 Exposes Child Marriage: Channel4's investigation caught an imam endorsing child brides, claiming Quranic approval, raising alarm over Islamist practices in Italy.

  • The report has intensified calls for legislative measures against Islamic separatism, targeting foreign funding and forced marriages.

Scholars Warn of Islamist Infiltration: Italian scholar Francesco Maggio cautions against the spread of Islamist ideologies exploiting cultural leniencies to promote child marriages.

  • He emphasizes the need for Italy to defend its cultural identity against such practices, urging firm judicial action.

By: Jules Gomes

A review of Palestinian Authority textbooks for the 2025-2026 school year has revealed persistent antisemitic content and calls for jihad, contradicting claims that Palestinian children are not taught to kill.

Antisemitism as Curriculum Core: The report by Institute for Monitoring Peace and Cultural Tolerance in School Education (IMPACT-se) finds antisemitism remains a central feature of the curriculum, with teacher guides serving as manuals for transmitting hate.

  • Textbooks glorify jihad and romanticize terrorism as a direct path to paradise, including exercises teaching martyrdom and violence.

Denials and Realities: Despite prominent denials, evidence in textbooks and cultural activities supports claims of indoctrination.

  • Palestinian schools continue to teach hatred against Israel, using educational materials to justify violence on religious and nationalistic grounds.

Michigan, home to diverse Middle Eastern communities, faces rising tensions amid allegations of Islamist networks shaping local politics and communities, largely unchecked.

Sunni Islamist Political Web: Sunni Islamist networks leverage religious and political influence to advance extremist agendas in Michigan, altering local institutions and politics.

  • Organizations like CAIR and Emgage operate legally but are tied to transnational ideologies, complicating efforts to separate grassroots activism from foreign agendas.

Shi'a Strongholds: Shi'a communities in Michigan, influenced by Iranian-linked networks, use religious diplomacy to assert political changes.

  • Centers like ICA and IHW maintain ties to pro-Iranian ideologies, contributing to internal community tensions and broader political implications.
